Oakfield Education Centre is driven by the belief that ongoing professional
training in aged and dementia care is imperative for creating and sustaining a
person-centered approach
We currently offer 3 inter related programs aimed at improving the knowledge
and skills of those dedicated to improving care services for elderly people and
those living with dementia.

Dementia Skill Training
Skills training for care workers which includes a full Activity profile training
Spiritual Care and Palliative Care
We are currently developing extensive Professional Development programs for
management and nurses and hosting training days and support for those who
are working in community care or caring for a relative at home.
Professional Development Training
These modules are for health care professionals who wish to improve their skills base. Courses include:

Mentorship & Assessment in Health Care Settings
- Communication Skills
- Manual Handling
- Fire and Safety
- CPR & AED
- Managing Challenging Behaviour
- Developing your research skills
- Eating for Health in Care Homes (Royal Society of Public Health)
We run a full program of Dementia Skills Training developed by Jackie Poole & Associates. The program is certified and offers a wide range of single modules that can be built on to achieve a City & Guilds Award, Certificate or a full Diploma in Dementia Studies.
